This house was built on land that projected into a forest preserve. We were asked to more than double it in size. We enclosed the pool and created a large deck entertaining area outside the pool pavilion. We added a new master suite wing and joined the existing building to the new using a new gathering room. We remodeled the kitchen and created a garden breakfast area. We collaborated with Landscape Architect Joyce Latta on integrating a new parking area and pergola entry to receive guests. We also worked on softening the visual impact of the enlarged structure on the surrounding forest preserve.
